The real price of EU membership was extortionate, says LEO McKINSTRY

THE ATTEMPTED murder of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in the market town of Salisbury, Wiltshire, rightly dominates the news headlines. The sheer audacity of it has similarities to the fatal poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko in a London hotel in 2006, allegedly by two ex-KGB agents, leading to speculation that it was sponsored by the Russian government.
