Bizarre MUTANT animal find in Orlando baffles experts

The Orlando based Back To Nature Wildlife Refuge group who located the species wrote on Facebook: “A mystery animal was found hiding under a car this past Friday evening, trying to stay warm.

“A volunteer of ours reached out to ask us what it was. We advised them to safely trap it and bring it in, as it appeared weak and cold.”

They added: “This sweet girl was very scared and weak on arrival. She’s had a rough few days and her health has dwindled. She is now with our vet receiving extra care.”

Her arrival into the sanctuary sparked an internet frenzy with users equally baffled in their attempts to identify the animal.

One user commented on Facebook: “Bear? This one has me stumped!”

Another wrote: “I think it might be a raccoon.”

A third wrote: “Does look like a "Chupacabra", hairless cat?”

Upon further examinations it is believed the six-pound animal is a hairless raccoon who is suffering from alopecia or a genetic mutation.

With an update the rescue group wrote: “She’s a hairless raccoon. We speculate that she suffers either from alopecia or a genetic mutation that she was born with.

“Since her arrival, her health has been declining.

“She is currently with our vet and will be in 24hr care. Donations are greatly appreciated!”
