UK weather forecast: FROST and plummeting temperatures spark misery for Britons TOMORROW

Temperatures will take a plunge in some areas, with the south of Wales ushering in a bone-chilling 3 degree-Celsius start this morning. Meanwhile towards the start of the working week conditions show no sign of improving, with the chance of a frost for the Monday morning commute. Britons may be reaching for de-icers and scrapers before they head off to work as April continues in a bleak vein.

Commenting on the conditions, Met Office meteorologist Sophie Yeomans said: “If you are in eastern coastal you have got another cloudy day on the cards.

“Some rain in places as well but in the west we do have some brighter skies in the forecast.”

There will be “a lot of cloud around in the north of Scotland”, according to the weather expert.

It will be a “cloudy start to the day for many of us elsewhere”, she continued.

Temperatures will be milder under the cloudy skies but where there are breaks in the cloud in south Wales temperatures will around 3 degrees Celsius, said the Met Office forecaster.

Ms Yeomans said: “Quite chilly to start the day.

“Through the rest of the day we will see a band of showers moving into eastern areas perhaps in the south east we could see some of these showers turning quite heavy into the afternoon time.

“Elsewhere though a fine day with plenty of sunny spells around in these western areas.”

Temperatures could reach 15 degrees Celsius, the weather expert said, adding into the evening a band of rain will cross the country.

She said: “Elsewhere though under those clear skies we could see temperatures falling quite low.

“So perhaps a frost in some areas by Monday morning.

“But for most of us it will be a brighter day.”
