UK weather forecast: Shock chart shows red-hot heatwave sweep in over Britain tomorrow

A WXCHARTS weather chart shows the UK submerged in soaring heatwave conditions on Friday and into the weekend as tropical heat from the south pushes in over Europe. The chart also displays dark red colours over Spain and France, signifying soaring heat up over 40C.  Weather forecaster Simon King, branded the heatwave “flaming June” as some areas of France are expecting to see thermometers tip towards 45C on Thursday.

Mr King claimed the UK would likely see hot air move towards Britain on Saturday where temperatures could reach highs of 32C in the capital.

But despite this surge in temperature, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the southwest as winds are expected to pick up throughout the heatwave.

The weather warning for part of the UK suggests gusts of 50mph are expected to batter towns for 36 hours causing delays to roads, rail, air and ferry transport in these regions.

Bus and train services are likely to be affected, with journeys possibly taking longer.

The Met Office issued the yellow weather warning from midnight today until midday on Friday.

It is in place across Devon and Cornwall in south-west England.

Scientists warned this week’s forecast heatwave could cause more than 100 deaths.

A London School of Economics-based (LSE) research institute issued the stark warning as the Met Office tips highs of more than 31C this weekend amid a heatwave across much of Europe.

The BBC forecaster said the summer heat will be brief in the UK, despite the European heatwave being in “full swing” across northwestern parts of the continents.

He explained: “On Friday, we’re starting to see some changes in the weather pattern with high pressure pushing out to the North Sea.

“And that allows us to finally tap into some continental heat and humidity, particularly across western parts of the UK."
