UK weather forecast: Britain set to bake in the scorching Saturday sun

Meteorologist Alex Deakin explained that the day will by defined by sunshine in the vast majority of places. There will be little or no rain and only mild breeze in most of the UK. Mr Deakin began by explaining it will be “Dry for most parts of the UK”.

However he explained there may be some lighter showers throughout the country.

Despite this, we should see: “Sunniest skies probably across the western half of the UK.”

The east and north of Scotland will see more cloud than most of the rest of the country.

Explaining the pattern for the rest of Saturday, Mr Deakin said: “As we run through the day, not going to see a great deal of change, some cloud will bubble up but equally were we start with cloud that will tend to break up a little bit.”

There will be scattered light showers throughout the afternoon.

Most of the best weather will happen in land, with a light breeze around coastal areas.

However the warmest weather will be enjoyed by Southampton at 26C (79F).

The coast will receive what Mr Deakin described as “a cooling to say the least”.

But there will be light winds and it will be “pretty warm well into the evening”.

As for Sunday, there will be “mist and low cloud across Eastern England” with it being particularly cool in this part of the country.

It may be grey at times “but for most places it will be dry”.

Mr Deakin summed up his forecast: “For most the weather is set fair for this weekend.”
