Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 UPDATE: COD release date news and Battle Pass latest

Mobile has proven a big hit with fans, and now the next big update is coming soon to Android and iOS.

Several patches have been released since COD Mobile was launched back in October, one of the biggest introducing Zombies Mode.

And now with Season 2 ending, more new content is being prepared for release this week on all platforms.

Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 is arriving this week, bringing with it two new modes straight out of the box.

These should be available as soon as the new COD update has been installed, which is great news for fans.

Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 had a release date set for earlier this week but that scheduled time has now passed.

Instead, Activision has chosen to launch COD Mobile Season 3 today, January 16, 2020. This was confirmed in patch notes shared by the development team.

When asked when Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 would be available to download and play, the official support team revealed: “Soon! Just keep an eye on the channel. We'll have a post here and a community update with the full patch notes.”

According to the official patch notes shared today, the Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 start time has been set for 11am, GMT, on January 16.

A further message from Activision confirms that Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 will be available to download by the middle of the current month.

The post adds: “We have Season 3 of Call of Duty: Mobile releasing around the middle of January and with that will come new modes, new maps, a new ranked mode season for BR & MP, a new Battle Pass, and more.

“While we don’t want to reveal all the details before we give out patch notes and make the announcements for the release, we would like to give you a taste of what is coming in this next update and particularly what will immediately be available in Multiplayer.

“First up, we have Rapid Fire mode for Multiplayer. This fast-paced and action-packed experience will be giving you infinite ammo, infinite grenades, sped up operator skill cooldowns, and faster recharging scorestreaks.

“This limited-time mode will be available for all to try on Season 3 launch.

"Second, we have Scrapyard. This is a recreation of the classic three-lane Modern Warfare 2 map. It is a medium-sized map that provides plenty of opportunities for close to mid-range combat and promises plenty of action. This will be the first Multiplayer map to release in Season 3.”

As teased above by Activision, we can probably expect a few more surprises during Call of Duty Mobile Season 3, following its launch later this week.
