Met Office weather warnings EXTENDED: EIGHT inches of snow to blanket UK tomorrow

"A brief spell of freezing rain is possible as snow begins to turn to rain, leading to icy stretches.

"Meanwhile, given saturated ground and recent flooding, the combination of snowmelt and rain may also bring about some disruption, mainly over parts of northern England."

A further snow warning is in place on Monday from 3am until 10pm the same day for Central, Tayside and Fife, Grampian, Highlands and Eilean Siar, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders and Strathclyde.

Again between two and four inches of snow is expected, but areas above 300metres could see around four to eight inches of snow build up.
